Februaryβs βSuccess of the Monthβ for The Hansen Group was Claudia Harry. Claudia is based out of Atlanta and is the lead over our chain work but also is on our K-12 school team! Claudia had an amazing month in February with a school in Atlanta, Georgia- so we asked her a few questions about what she did to work with this school and what she incorporated to help them solve their problems!
THG: Hey Claudia! What was the project that you worked on and who was it that you worked with?
CH: We incorporated a Campus Meal Delivery System within a City School System. I cannot enclose the name of the school system, but they were super easy and fun to work with!
THG: Thatβs okay- can you tell us more about them, though? How did all of this work through the unprecedented times we are going through?
CH: This particular school system has 58 neighborhood schools and 24 combined partner and charter schools! We knew the schools were going live in February 2021, but they were not going to be offering traditional in-cafeteria dining services yet. So, they wanted to find the best solution for serving students safely once they returned after being gone for almost a full year. The need: how could we lighten the load to help the staff with this new food transportation needed? The ask: They needed a budget friendly way to launch a program for moving breakfast and lunch down the hallways. The backstory: In March of 2020, keeping their students fed was priority number ONE when virtual learning started up. Cambro Insulated Go Bags became the answer for their Meal Delivery during these times. Over the summer and throughout the year, they have purchased over 2,300 Go Bags to keep the food warm or cold, depending on what was being served that day. Go Bags were the perfect solution, and still is, to serve food and then when they are not being used- can be folded and put onto shelves for storage!
THG: This is an amazing testimonial for Cambro! We love hearing this. So⦠how do they get the bags around easily now, though?
CH: When it was known that the schools were going back 100% live, it was exciting but also potentially problematic. Handling meal service was not the problem, it was how do we save on labor now getting these meals up and down the hallways? This is where the Cambro Flexcart came into play! With its capacity to hold 800 lbs. a shelf and the easy to maneuver wheels, this was kind of a no-brainer for us. The foodservice teams handle a lot in their process to serve students, so we wanted to give them something to make their lives easier! We configured the Flex3 to accommodate up to 10 bags and now, it easily moves down the hallway with a one or two team members, branching off to drop bags at the door for in-classroom feeding.
THG: I love that The Hansen Group and Cambro were able to provide entire solutions for all these schools!! Were there any other Cambro items incorporated?
CH: YES! In addition to the Go Bags and Flexcarts, we also added in the Cambro EPP Milk Boxes, so now they are not only moving meals easily down the halls, but they are also keeping milk at its best temperature. What this school loves about the milk boxes are that they are protecting the milk 4+ hours safely, budget friendly, along with the boxes being dishwasher safe and lightweight.
THG: We are so happy with all of the help we are giving this school system, Claudia! Can I ask though- Why Cambro, over another manufacturer?
CH: That is the easiest question you have asked! Everything we provided for these schools are American- made, shipping from North Carolina. We earned this business because of how easy it is to have stock for large orders like this one! Orders were worked quickly with a Cambro team, knowing schools are a huge focus for us. The turnaround time was exceptional: 116 carts, 116 milk boxes and over 1,000 Go Bags- this school system is now ready to hit the hallways and will be prepared for summer feeding as well! We definitely hope a little less work and happier teams with their new Flexible Meal Delivery System.

Awesome job Claudia, we are so happy that The Hansen Group and Cambro was able to help out this school system!
