One of the biggest foodservice trends over the past few years has been to bring food preparation from the back of the house to the front of the house. From quick service to fine dining, customers are interested in how their food is created and how well the operation is cleaned. Unfortunately, creating an open kitchen layout may not be feasible due to existing layout issues or even financial constraints.
A solution to front of the house limitations is to bring flexible or portable pieces of equipment that can be configured to an existing space. Globe has several solutions that can easily be implemented in existing layouts. Here are a few different options that will make your foodservice operation stand out.
1.) Flywheel Slicer (FS14) – Perfect for theater slicing and front-of-house display. Globe’s new FS14 Flywheel Slicer accommodates traditionally oversized artisan meats with a 14″ (350mm) precision knife. This vintage-style volcano slicer features classic Italian design, vibrant red enamel with black and gold detailing, and an authentic Italian marble receiving shelf. Totally hand-powered, this manual slicer gives the operator complete slice thickness control from tissue-thin to 3/32″ (2.5mm). Add the heavy-duty artisan pedestal with locking casters for convenience and mobility.
2.) Induction Range (GIR1800) – A portable solution to all your range needs. From boiling to sautéing, the induction burner offers a small footprint that allows you to perform the exact same cooking methods as a full-size range. After the unit is done being used, it can be unplugged and stored away.
3.) Panini Grill (GPG14D) – The Panini Grill is an easy addition to any front of house preparation and will outperform any of the competition. The grill heats almost twice as fast and consistently puts out a quality product. Depending on the plate configuration, it can be used for dozens of items: Reubens, Cubans, Philly steaks, ham & cheese, panini/sandwiches, quesadillas, burritos, vegetables, variety of meats, chicken, steak, the list goes on and on.
4.) Colored Mixers – Traditionally found in the back of a food service operation, the mixer is a widely used piece that can now become a show piece. The Globe mixer offers a high torque transmission with heat treated and hardened steel gears and shafts that easily mixes all types of products and improves reliability. The mixer’s rigid cast iron body ensures years of mixer durability. An award winning design brings confidence in the performance and an appeal to a consumers eye.
